The next phase of the design process is to address the technical issues and collaborate with other consultants, such as a structural engineer, to develop a design solution that tightly integrates the proposed layout with structure and building services requirements. We can then prepare and submit drawings and applications for building control approval. All but the smallest of projects require building regulation approval, ensuring that the proposals will satisfy laws relating to structure, fire escape, foul and rainwater drainage, moisture, ventilation, staircases, conservation of energy, and disabled access.
