Sensitive reconstruction of a Listed village property.
Our sensitive reconstruction of 26 High Street – a grade II listed building – was awarded this certificate for high-quality craftsmanship and respect for conserving the traditional building style, structure and streetscene. Virtually the entire building was redesigned and rebuilt, with just the front facade being retained out of sensitivity to the village’s heritage.
A timber-frame was used and rendered in such a way that the building merged seamlessly into the streetscene. The two bedroom property now benefits from a better insulated and higher performing building envelope, and the rear bedroom on the first floor even features a terrace with views over the South Downs.
